NC homeowners are screwed!
It does not matter how many unsafe houses a contractor builds or abandons or lives he demolishes, he can still pull permits and continue harming properties and people. Contractors should have to disclose lawsuits, liens, complaints, charges, and bankruptcies. Homeowners have to post proof of not having liens at the job site, but contractors can hide theirs? NC needs to protect homeowners. A contractor should not be allowed to keep stolen funds by declaring bankruptcy and leaving you with an incomplete and improper build.
